The Federal Office of Justice (Bundesamt für Justiz), Division II 5, 53094 Bonn, Germany, collects data relating to the provision of judicial training from participants in training courses offered by the German Judicial Academy (Deutsche Richterakademie – DRA) and the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN). The responsibilities for judicial training, on both a national and European level, were transferred to the Federal Office of Justice by an official decision of the Federal Ministry of Justice of 20 November 2018. The data is processed as per Art. 6 para. 1 (e) GDPR in conjunction with Sec. 3 Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG – Bundesdatenschutzgesetz).
Within the Federal Office of Justice, those individuals and units of the organisation receive access to the data such as require it in execution of their official duties. It may also be forwarded to recipients outside of the Federal Office of Justice where this is necessary in the execution of duties as allocated. This typically involves, but is not limited to, the following recipients: The German Judicial Academy, the EJTN and its contact points in EU Member States, the judicial authorities of Germany’s Bundesländer, conferences organisers, those speaking at conferences and other conference participants.
